A beatiful house beside the river is abandoned is not likely common. I think there is a strong reason behind the house to beabandoned According to my opninion there must be any mysterious reason.

The house was situated near the river. it is sure that it is fullof natural beauty.it was well managed and perfectly decorated. It was also near the forest with all the neccesary facilities. Such house can be a dreamhouse of a person. Nobody wants to leave this type of house in any condition at all. According to the location, it is situated it may cost high. After many years also the house looks a appealing and recent. There may be different resons behind the house to be abandoned. But in my opnion I think someone have made this house for their vacation and to get peace in natures lap. 

May be the person is very rich and he is living in the city area with his family so he left this house only for holidays because it was full of natural beauty. May they come once a year to spend quality and speaceful life which is away from city's polluted enviroment and tension. As he is rich he use to do regular maintainence of his house so the house looks appealing. Some people may think that, if the house is abandoned then there must be any horrible scene, but in my opinion not every abandoned house is dreadful.

Before any investigation I don't think it is right to give any pessimistic view, these all are the superstitious belief which do not have any scientific reason. So I am sure that the house is not abandoned for dreadful things. It is made for the personaly for enjoying the fascinating nature.
